Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, Meet & Greet Services, followed by transfer to your Kigali hotel.
Overnight on Bed & Breakfast basis: Kigali Serena Hotel or Park Inn by Radisson Hotel
Morning, depart Kigali and head north To the Volcanoes Mountains base town of Musanze. 94km, 2.5hrs
Brief stop-over visit of the DIAN FOSSEY MUSEUM-GALLERY, in the town. (No Entrance fee, but donations are welcome) Then, lunch at one of Musanze Town’s popular restaurants. After lunch, drive further north, for the Rwanda/Uganda border point of Cyanika. 25km, 50mins
En route, make a stop-over visit of the spectacularly beautiful and picturesque Twin Lakes of Burera & Ruhondo, shortly after departing Musanze Town.
On arrival at the border, clear border formalities, and cross into Uganda. Then, drive through Uganda’s south-western border town of Kisoro, proceeding to the Mgahinga National Park, the northern-most tip of the Virunga Mountains range. (straddling Rwanda/Uganda and DR Congo)
Overnight on Full-board basis: Mount Gahinga Lodge
Uganda Mgahinga Gorilla Trek Via Kigali
At the end of your one-hour audience with your gorilla family, trek back to rejoin your driver-guide and vehicle. Drive back to your lodge for freshening up and lunch. Afternoon, lunch relax at the lodge, as you re-live the fresh memories of the close encounter with the gorillas. Late afternoon, optional cultural village visit of the Batwa 'Pygmy' Community.
Overnight on Full-board basis: Mount Gahinga Lodge
Morning, depart the Mgahinga region and drive back to the Uganda/Rwanda border, where you cross back into Rwanda.
Drive back to Kigali and, upon arrival, embark on orientation Kigali City Tour, including a visit to the Genocide Memorial Museum.
Lunch at the Hotel Mille Collines - featured in the film "Hotel Rwanda," regarding the 1994 Rwanda Genocide Against the Tutsis. Later in the afternoon, your driver-guide will transfer you to Kigali airport for your evening flight.
