Kongoni Lodge Naivasha is located in a private park called Kongoni Ranch. The name ” Kongoni” comes from a species of antelope present in the area. The ranch is located in the central part of Kenya, some 120 km northwest of Nairobi.

Kongoni Lodge Naivasha is a private home that offers guests privacy and exclusivity in traditional colonial style home. The house has five en-suite bedrooms with newly renovated bathrooms. The bedrooms are off a central courtyard originally designed to accommodate the countess’ house guests, of which there were many and frequent visitors.
Food & Drink
Kongoni Lodge Naivasha cuisine has developed as a blend of various cultures. The house chef who has learned, like many of Kenyans best chefs, Mediterranean, European, North African, Indian, Swahili, and other cuisines from the multi-racial background that is Kenya. Kongoni Lodge Naivasha aims to cook healthy, locally sourced dishes that everyone can enjoy. The lodge use locally farmed fruit and vegetables: free-range organic eggs, yogurt, and fresh cream from the dairy farm down the road. Fresh fish and seafood are bought from the coast of Lake Victoria.

A major feature of Kongoni Lodge Naivasha’s design is the long veranda that overlooks lawns and gardens with Naivasha acacia trees towards the lake and volcanic peaks that are so much a part of the rift valley landscape. The overall impression is one of privacy, quiet, and nature’s abundance. The gardens are open to wildlife; one can sit peacefully on the veranda and watch zebra, warthog, and giraffe, frequent visitors. Another attraction is the pool, which provides a sense of coolness, particularly in the hot and dry season.

Elsamere is the former home of Joy Adamson of “Born Free,” a residential conservation center with a library, memorial room, and gift shop. You can enjoy traditional tea or lunch on the lawn under huge old acacia trees, and are invited to watch the film ” The Joy Adamson Story” Just outside of Hell’s Gate National Park, Mount Longonot is an impressive dormant volcano that last erupted in the 1860s. Kongoni Ranch includes about 1000 acres of savannah, a beautiful garden, stables, and a holding, whose focal point is a century-old farm, once belonging to Margaret Countess De Perigny and her beloved husband, Roger. Their tombs, made of white stones and placed in the central part of the garden, are a visible reminder of the former owners. The farm is situated on a volcanic shelf, elevated high above the Naivasha Lake, which results in its garden being a natural viewing terrace. Its view takes your breath away. A wide belt of African acacia, beyond which gleams the lake’s flat surface, provides the basis for a panorama of extinct volcanic cones.

Kiangazi House Naivasha is set amongst beautiful lush gardens and tended lawns; this homestead has truly breathtaking views of unspoiled Africa. Accommodation consists of 5 rooms. Each room has its own distinctive character with an en-suite bathroom. All of the beds are four-poster surrounded by netting.
Three of the rooms (1 twin, 2 doubles) are inside the main house, one of these being the Ibis suite with its own fireplace and mini-bar. 2 new garden rooms are situated outside the main house and have their own private verandas. (3 smaller annex rooms can be made available for larger groups). Kiangazi House Naivasha has highly trained professional chefs who deliver an exquisite array of cuisine. Fresh vegetables and dairy products are produced on the farm nearby and therefore obtained daily. A swimming pool is creatively blended into the surrounding garden.
General Facilities
With delightful lush gardens littered with color, rolling lawns, and a view to compliment the beautiful setting, it’s ironic that ” Kiangazi” is the Swahili word meaning ” hot and dry season” This delightful country house overlooks Oloidien Bay and part of Lake Naivasha. Kiangazi House Naivasha has a library and a huge fireplace. It is an ideal place to relax. For the more energetic, a tennis court overlooks the corridor route taking wildlife to water at the lake’s edge. A salt lick and water hole is excellently located at the bottom of the garden for animals to congregate at.
Recreational Facilities
Game drives can be arranged here, or, for those wishing to venture further afield, it is possible to arrange a whole day trip in the lodges 4×4 vehicles to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Kiangazi House Naivasha lies within a wildlife corridor connecting the lake Naivasha shore, environs with Hells Gate National Park, and beyond into the Masailand. Adjacent to Kiangazi House Naivasha is the private 20,000-acre Oserian Wildlife Sanctuary complete with a diversity of wildlife, including rhino, leopard, cheetah, Grevy’s zebra, giraffe, kudu, and hyena. Kiangazi House Naivasha is a luxurious and spacious country home overlooking Lake Naivasha Olaidien Bay in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. Kiangazi House is approximately 100 Kilometers from Nairobi by road and around 27 Kilometers from the turnoff onto Moi South Lake, Lake Naivasha. Kiangazi has its own airstrip nearby, and charter flights from Nairobi take around 20 Minutes
