The Rooms

Buhoma Community Rest Camp (BCRC) is the backbone of Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association. It has been the main source of funding to the association’s various community projects since its inception in 1993 (alongside BMCDA). It is setup at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with the main aim of providing quality lodging service to its guests.
There are six (6) well-furnished and self-contained safari tents, two (2) self-contained cottages, and five (5) non-self-contained twin cottage bandas. All of our bandas are built with local materials and are of African architectural design. We also offer guests a dormitory of six (6) beds as well as camp sites throughout the camp that are covered with green grass and surrounded by a thick tropical forest. To further increase our source of funding to various community projects, BMCDA will soon be offering luxury facilities for those guests who are visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and would like their accommodations to be a little less rustic. Guests staying at Buhoma Community Rest Camp can be assured their mornings will be filled with beautiful views of a mist-covered forest and the amazing sounds of nature. Bwindi’s biologically diverse rainforest, dating back over 25,000 years, contains almost 400 species of plants and protects an estimated 320 mountain gorillas. This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to 120 other mammal species such as baboons, chimpanzees, duikers, elephants, and antelopes. There are also around 350 species of birds inhabiting the forest, including twenty three (23) Albertine Rift endemic species; fourteen (14) of which are recorded nowhere else in Uganda.
