Kirurumu Manyara

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvellous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara, the Rift floor and Mt. Losimingori. Behind Kirurumu, the Ngorongoro Highlands rise in green and fertile splendour and form the gateway to Ngorongoro Crater and, finally, Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti and our own 200 sq. km. game-rich Loliondo Concession which immediately borders the Serengeti.

The Rooms

NUMBER OF ROOMS: The lodge has a total of 20 tented rooms (of which 2 are for honeymooners). Room Dcor: The tented rooms are very basic and well spaced from the others. The lower number tents have views facing out onto the valley, whilst the rest face the gardens. Each tent has a wooden veranda, with armchairs and table, which is fantastic to sit on and view the sunset. Each tent is protected from the direct sun by a thatched roof. The tent bases are made from local volcanic stone and the roofs are thatched, blending into the environment.
Room amenities: The tents are fully furnished and comfortable with twin or double beds, interior furnishing, e.g.: desk, chair, luggage rack etc, en suite facilities (flush toilet, shower, wash-hand basin). The tents are insect-proof but have NO mosquito nets. Special feature: Fantastic view of the escarpment below.
Food & Drink

Thatched dining room offering a wonderful view. The service is attentive and the large bar has a friendly atmosphere and a great view over the lake and valley.
