It is about six (6) kilometers from Eldoret Central Business District.<\/p><p>Eldoret Club is a private Member\u2019s Club which was established in 1924 by group of Uasin Gishu residents who wanted a place to meet socially and which would provide relaxation and entertainment for themselves and their families.<\/p><p>The climate of Eldoret must be one of the most agreeable in the world. One rainy season (April \u2013 September) is broken by the reasonably dry month of August. Daytime temperatures over this period average 16-18C (60-64F) and evenings can be cool enough for an open fire. From October to April the weather is clear, bright and sunny, with a mean temperature of 24C (76F). The average rainfall is 1016mm (40\u2033) per year.<\/p><p>Lakes Bogoria and Baringo (two of the Great Rift Lakes) Bogoria boasting hot springs and flamingoes, Baringo offering a wealth of birdlife. \u2013 are within two hours drive of Eldoret; Lake Turkana (formerly Lake Rudolf) is an easy five-hour drive away; all have residential lodges for visitors. Kisumu, on the shores of Lake Victoria, is easily accessible. Main roads to other large towns in the area are also all-weather tarmac. Eldoret has an airstrip for private and small commercial planes, as well as an International Airport with a twice daily air service to\/from Nairobi, and the flying time to Eldoret is 55 minutes.<\/p><p>Eldoret Club is situated in beautiful grounds \u2018on the outskirts of the town, on what was once farmland. There is an excellent Clubhouse, with full bar and restaurant services; 24 cottage type double bedrooms, tennis &amp; courts, squash court, badminton court, swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna.
